rubber hose, carbon steel pipe & plate

special thanks to David Peters & Richard Wright

The Womb is made of garden hose and steel pipe, everyday objects we use to receive water in our households and gardens. The womb is a conversation about water as a resource and how humans have created ways to harness, share and manipulate this resource. The name of the sculpture, The Womb, speaks to the fact that water is a resource on which all life depends. The size and scale is encompassing, like a large body of water, one can enter it and rest on the strung red hose once inside.
